Victims identified in double homicide south of Wynnewood

The Garvin County Sheriff’s Office has released the identities of two people found dead at a home southwest of Wynnewood last week.

Garvin County deputies were responding to a call for a welfare check at a residence near Indian Meridian Road and East County Road 1680 around 9:30 a.m. May 31, when they discovered the bodies of Danny Daniels, 62, and Destinie Wieck, 39, inside the home, according to Garvin Sheriff Jim Mullett.

The Sheriff’s Office has asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to assist with the investigation. The deaths are being investigated as a double homicide, according to statements released May 31 by the Sheriff’s Office and OSBI. Authorities have said they do not believe there is any continuing danger to the public in connection to this case.

“We are working closely with OSBI to run down leads right now,” Mullett said Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OSBI at tips@osbi.ok.gov or 1-800-522-8017. Tips can also be reported to the Garvin County Crimestoppers tip line at 1-855-211-STOP.

Those providing information may remain anonymous, Mullett said.
