Wynnewood Chamber to host Fall Festival Oct. 17
The Wynnewood Chamber of Commerce will host a Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Wynnewood. The event will feature food trucks, vendors, a soap box derby race and a rubber duck race. Lindsay United hosts pumpkin patch
Lindsay United Methodist Church is hosting a pumpkin patch through the month of October. The patch is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Pumpkins are priced based on size from $1 to $50. Money raised supports the church’s youth and children ministries.
Several special events are planned to take place in the patch.
Movie night will be at dusk on Oct. 17. The church will show an inspirational family movie under the stars among the pumpkins. Free popcorn will be served.
Homeschool Day will be Oct. 21. Homeschooled students and their families are invited to enjoy the patch together with games and activities also available.
Pumpkin painting will be from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 22. The church will provide supplies for decorating pumpkins.
Dinner in the patch will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 25. The outdoor community meal will feature beans, cornbread, fried potatoes and onions, and peach cobbler.

American Sign Language Conversations at Stratford Library adds fall dates
The American Sign Language Conversations group at Stratford’s Chandler-Watts Memorial Library has added several new dates to its fall lineup due to increased popularity. Led by instructor Candy Fields the group welcomes all ages and ASL levels. Classes begin at 6 p.m. at the library, 340 N. Oak St. Remaining fall dates include Oct. 6 and 20, Nov. 3 and 17, and Dec. 8. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information contact the library at 580-759-2684.
Merry and Mingle Holiday Bazaar set for November 21
The holiday shopping season is getting a little merrier in Garvin County with the Merry and Mingle Holiday Bazaar, set for Saturday, November 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Garvin County Fairgrounds.
The bazaar will feature a variety of local vendors and plenty of options for Christmas shopping. The Merry and Mingle Holiday Bazaar is a fundraiser for the Garvin County Free Fair Royalty Program and will help support the royalty program and those who represent the Garvin County Free Fair throughout the year.
“We are excited to bring the Merry and Mingle Holiday Bazaar to our community,” said Royalty Coordinator Tracie Mullendore. “We hope people will come out, enjoy the holiday atmosphere, shop with our vendors and help support the Royalty Program and the Garvin County Free Fair, as well.”

Red Brick Road Film Festival returns to PV Oct. 8-11
The Red Brick Road Film Festival returns to Pauls Valley next weekend, promising four days of film screenings, table reads, panels and parties, all in celebration of cinema and filmmakers. The 5th annual festival, produced by the Washita Valley Film Society, gets underway at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, with a Red-Carpet Welcome Party at The Vault, 111 E. Paul Ave., followed by a film screening at 7:30 p.m. The festival will continue through Sunday, Oct. 11, with events and screenings at venues along Paul Ave. including the Pauls Valley Arts Council Building, The Vault and the Royal Theater.

OHCE offers free lesson on ‘Journaling and Creating Your Life Story,’ Oct. 15
Join the Garvin County Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) group for October’s Leader Lesson, “Journaling and Creating Your Life Story,” taught by Oklahoma County Family and Consumer Sciences Educator Lisa Hamblin.
Writing your thoughts in a journal is cathartic and self-reflective. Discover strategies for piecing together your life story through the practice of journaling.
The lesson will be Thursday, October 15, at 10 a.m. at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St. in Pauls Valley. It is free and open to the public.
