Public meeting to address Senior Nutrition Program changes

The City of Pauls Valley is inviting senior citizens, caregivers, family members and all interested community members to attend an informational public meeting regarding upcoming changes to the congregate meal and home-delivered meal programs provided through the Pauls Valley Senior Citizens Center.

The meeting is Monday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at the PV Senior Center in Wacker Park.

Officials said the meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about upcoming changes to meal services and the Southern Oklahoma Development Association’s role in administering the program, meet representatives involved in the program and ask questions and share concerns.

“It is important for the public to understand that while the City of Pauls Valley strongly supports the Senior Citizens Center and its mission, the City does not operate or administer the senior meal program. The nutrition services, including congregate meals and home-delivered meals, are administered through SODA, which oversees the program and is implementing the upcoming changes,” city officials said Tuesday in an email announcing the public meeting.

“Your questions, concerns, and feedback are important. We hope you will join us for this informative community discussion. The City of Pauls Valley remains committed to supporting our senior community and ensuring residents have access to accurate information regarding services available through our local Senior Citizens Center.”
