Steven Paul Turner of Elmore City was born August 5, 1954, at Pauls Valley to Harvey Paul Turner and LaVern (Odom) Turner. He went to be with the Lord January 3, 2026, at his home in Elmore City at the age of 71. Steve grew up in Maysville and graduated high school and then went on to college at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. During college he married Diane Robinson, the mother of his children. He was a jack-of-all-trades, working in the oil field much of his life and spending 17 years employed by Kerr McGee. He spent time as a carpenter, working with the McFadden Bros. and then Southside Electric for Skip Jones over 10 years. During that time, he was also a relief mail carrier for Danny Ferguson at Foster, Oklahoma. After that, he went to work for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for eight years. While there, he made many new friends, including Ron Smith, who became a special friend.
He finally retired for a short time only to go back to work for John Farris at Forum as a salesman for Troy Reed. He loved it. Being a people person, he loved to visit with anyone and everyone. He managed to have a loving life and on February 4, 1984, he married Debby Blankenship. They shared 42 wonderful years. They were always best friends, first having an everlasting love for each other.
He had three beautiful girls, Stephanie Diane, Mirenda Beth and Jill Renee. And with these girls he was blessed with many grandchildren: Austin (Karlee), Mason (Madie), Emma (Jake), Megan (Brandis), Sam and Ean. The most special were his greats: Emery, Ava, Rylee, Creed, Emma, Elizabeth, Summer, Kam, Blakely and Evelyn, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Nothing brought him more joy than being with his family. He always loved to go fishing with all of them. He was a devoted husband, grandpa and friend to many. He also had a special cousin, Tom, he called his brother.
He is survived by his wife, Debby, of the home; three daughters, Stephanie Diane and son-in-law Bryan Jones, Mirenda Beth and son-in-law Weston Hunt, Jill Renee Turner and Carrie Smyser; one sister, Dian Ivey; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and LaVern Turner; in-laws, Harold and Margaret Blankenship; one brother-in-law, Don Ivey, and a very special grandson, Tyler Aldridge.
