Rocky Joe Jones left this world to live eternally with his Savior Jesus Christ on July 13, 2021, at the age of 62 years, in Plano, Texas. He was born in Lockney, Texas, on October 19, 1958, to Rex H. Jones and Jeri E. (Baldwin) Jones.
Rocky loved to fish and hunt. He attended Maysville high school. He worked for years as a security guard and upon moving to southeast Oklahoma, he worked at a lumber company as a loader operator. Rocky later became disabled and made his home in Fort Towson, Oklahoma. He cherished time with his friends and family, and he loved to joke and laugh more than anything.
Rocky is survived by son, Craig Kohniak of Alaska; a bonus son and daughter-in-law, Jerramy Chance and Lacey Wallis; his father, Rex Jones of Marietta, Oklahoma; brother, Ricky Jones of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; sisters, Rhonda Deviney and husband, Roy, of Maysville, Oklahoma and Shonda O'Berry and husband, David, of Pryor, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and many cousins and friends.
Rocky was preceded in death by his mother, Jeri E. Jones.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Maysville in Maysville, Oklahoma, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 10 a.m. His final resting place will be at Watson Cemetery, Oak Hill, Oklahoma.
