Patricia Ann McCoy, lovingly known as Pat, was born June 23, 1940, in Levelland, Texas. She peacefully passed away June 14, 2026, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, warmth and cherished memories.
Pat was a woman who found deep joy in the happiness of others. One of her special delights was creating personalized birthday cakes for her family, a thoughtful expression of her love. Her home was often a gathering place where she enjoyed having everyone over to share meals made with love, reflecting her passion for cooking. Family reunions were occasions she treasured, as they brought together the people closest to her heart. Throughout her life, Pat nurtured many interests that enriched her days. Her love for cooking was complemented by a lively enthusiasm for square dancing. She found joy in arts and crafts, and she cherished the time spent outdoors, fishing and embracing the tranquility of nature. In her personal life, Pat was married to Lloyd McCoy. They were united in marriage on July 26, 1974, in Perryton, Texas. Their years together were filled with mutual love and companionship until Lloyd’s passing in 2011. Though she has departed this world, the warmth of her presence, her laughter, and the joy she so freely gave will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her. In the gentle peace of her passing, Pat has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her loved ones, a testament to a life beautifully lived. Pat’s proudest accomplishments centered deeply on her family. She is lovingly survived by her children: Tammy Downey and Leonard of Lindsay, Oklahoma; Lynn Martin and Sandy of Longview, Texas; Billy Ayers and Gaylene of Lindsay, Oklahoma; Billy McCoy of Clinton, Oklahoma; and Raylene Ray and Tony of Foss, Oklahoma. Her grandchildren— Jody Fletcher and Gena, Ursula Perry and Jason, Kelly Robison and Chuck, Daniel Downey and Michelle, Elaine Downey, Jessica Lea and Brandon, Shelby Martin, Brandon Yeager, Tanner Ayers, Travis McCoy, Whitney McCoy, Katie Ray, and Justin—carry forward her spirit and love. Additionally, she was blessed with a host of great and great-great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Murdock, husband Lloyd McCoy, her brother J L Murdock, her sister Margaret Shores, and three beloved grandchildren: Leonard William “Billy” Downey, Jimmy Downey, and Cory Ayers.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2026, at The First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Bro. Nick Johnson officiating. Burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
