John Wilson Agee

John Wilson Agee of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully June 21, 2025, with his wife, Sharon, by his side. John was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, April 24, 1940, to Anderson Wesley Agee and Marjorie Ann Gooch Agee.

John enjoyed athletics, participating in all sports throughout his high school years. He possessed a notable musical talent, with the piano being his preferred choice. Although John knew how to read music, he preferred to learn songs by ear. This allowed him, in his own words, to add personal “flavor” to each song. One of his many favorite pieces to perform was “Imagine” by John Lennon. We believe Mr. Lennon would have approved John’s revised interpretation of his great song.

John was married to Sharon, and they enjoyed over 67 years of marriage, raising their sons together and enjoying vacations at the beach, skiing in Colorado and attending professional sporting events. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Administration degree before being accepted into the OU School of Law. However, he opted for a career in the aerospace industry and relocated his family to Arlington, Texas, where they resided for over eight years while establishing lifelong, enduring friendships.

John valued his role as a father and dedicated himself to coaching his sons, supporting their activities, and encouraging their aspirations. His sons welcomed his business acumen as they navigated their careers in the oil and gas industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Marjorie Agee, his sons Alan Christian Agee and George Kevin Agee, and his brothers Alan Wesley Agee and Richard Timothy Agee.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Lovick Agee; son John Justin Agee and wife Wendy Sue Agee; grandsons Randall Alan Agee and wife Sarah Kate Agee, John Wesley Agee and wife Choe Rebekah Agee, Stephen Kyle Agee, Matthew Wyatt Agee, Cade Garrison Agee, Camden Miles Agee and William Travis Agee; his great-grandchildren Hannah Claire Agee, Christian Patrick Agee and Elle Vivienne Agee; one brother and his wife, Anderson David Agee and Linda Reece Agee; and a sister-in-law Brenda Agee. He also leaves behind nephews, Dan Corbin Agee, John Brett Agee and Jasen Reece Agee, and niece, Laura Lynn Cooper.

Following his wishes, a private graveside service will be held following cremation in July. In place of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Keep Port Aransas Beautiful organization. Donations may be made at kpab.org/donate/.
