Patsey Ruth (Farris) Balentine, age 89, of Elmore City, Oklahoma, passed away February 10, 2026. She was born February 28, 1936, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Acie William Farris and Maud Irene (Jones) Farris. Patsey grew up on her family’s farm and often shared fond memories of her childhood. She walked a mile and a half to catch the school bus and always said she had a great and happy childhood. She was adored by her parents and brothers and was lovingly described as “spoiled rotten.” She attended McCarty Schools. On November 22, 1952, she married the love of her life, Clyde Lee Balentine, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Their marriage of 73 years was one of the greatest blessings and highlights of her life.
Patsey worked as a caretaker at the Pauls Valley Southern Oklahoma Resource Center for 30 years. She retired from the State School in 1997, having faithfully served and cared for others throughout her career.
She was a devoted member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Elmore City Baptist Church and Southside Holiness Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. The greatest highlight to her was knowing her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Patsey led by example, always seeing the good in everyone and helping anyone in need. She was steadfast and loving in all she did and continually pointed others to Jesus.
In her younger days, Patsey could often be found tending her garden or working on the farm. Though she loved her flowers, her son-in-law Jeff would say with a smile, “She loved her flowers but didn’t have a green thumb.” She also enjoyed checking on her neighbors and friends, making sure everyone felt cared for and remembered.
Patsey was known for her wonderful cooking. Her family especially cherished her turkey and dressing, meatloaf, Sunday roast dinners, coconut cream pie and potato salad — meals made with love that brought everyone together around the table.
Her greatest joys were raising her family, serving in the church and loving her husband, Clyde. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness and unwavering love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Patsey is survived by her husband Clyde Balentine, of the home; son, Jimmy Balentine and wife Debbie, of Elmore City, Oklahoma; daughters, Debra Oglesbee and husband Mark of Celina, Texas, Sheri Jablinske and husband Jeff of Elmore City, Oklahoma; brother, Ray Farris and wife Ruth; grandchildren, Brent Balentine and wife Julie, Brook Balentine, Malesa Rose and husband James, Mark Oglesbee and wife Cassie, Sandi Qualls and husband Jarron, Alyssa Williams and husband James; great-grandchildren, Will Balentine and wife Cheyanne, Zane Balentine, Jack Rose, Emma Grace Rose, Caroline Rose, Claire Oglesbee, Luke Oglesbee, Ryah Williams, Declan Williams, Roman Reust, Farah Reust, Evie Qualls, Jolee Qualls; great-great grandchildren, Chloe Rose, Baby Balentine due summer 2026; and a host of other friends and family.
