Farrell “Wayne” Yandell, 90, of Lindsay, Oklahoma, passed away June 27, 2026, at the OKC Baptist Village. He was born June 24, 1936, to Clifford James and Cleo Montgomery Yandell, and graduated from Lindsay High School in 1954. Wayne worked for the Lindsay Post Office for 35 years. He loved his hometown and was a proud Lindsay Leopard supporter. He enjoyed simple pleasures: fishing any chance he got, swapping jokes, watching all sports, working in his yard and having coffee with friends at the Lindsay Gas & Go.
Wayne was saved and baptized and grew up attending church. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lindsay, where he sang with the Singing Seniors and enjoyed traveling with the Keenagers, a group that brought him joy, fellowship and laughter.
A verse dear to him was Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Wayne is survived by his wife, VirginiaNationYandell,whom he married on December 9, 1993. They would have celebrated 33 years this December. Above all, Wayne loved his family—his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren— and time together meant everything to him.
Wayne is survived by his sons: Terry Yandell and wife Pam; Rip Nation and wife Leona; and Russ Nation and wife Carol.
He is also survived by his brother, Galen Yandell and wife Teresa; his step sister, Sheila Campbell and husband Donnie; and his sister in law, Audrey Yandell.
Grandchildren and great grandchildren include: Mike, Alesha, Carter and Harper Campbell; Brenna, Drake, Dax and Daya Worley; Jason, Terra, Emery, Pierson and Beckett Meador; Chase, Jennifer, Tatum and Quinn Nation and John Nation.
He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his brother J.W. Yandell, and his former wife, Lanell.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at The First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Bro. Nick Johnson officiating. Burial to follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
