The City of Pauls Valley is asking residents to conserve water, cease all outdoor or unnecessary watering until further notice due to issues at the water plant. City officials say residents can also expect scheduled overnight water blackouts citywide for the next several days so critical infrastructure repairs can be performed and the city can "manage severe drought supply shortages."
The City of Pauls Valley issued an urgent notice early Thursday afternoon asking water customers to immediately cease all nonessential water usage and conserve water until further notice. According to the communication, the action is necessary to ensure customers maintain adequate water service while an issue at the water plant is addressed.
Around 4:30 p.m. the city sent a second notice advising of the rolling blackouts, which are expected to occur nightly from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Thursday, Aug. 13. The blackouts are expected to continue nightly through Aug. 17 and will affect every area of the city.
Residents are asked to keep enough water on hand for drinking, cooking and basic sanitation during those hours and to refrain from running washing machines and dishwashers overnight.
When water is restored, residents may experience low pressure and discoloration.
