Bob Passmore, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 14, 1937, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to Joe and Myrtle Bell Passmore.
Bob married Sue Morris on March 9, 1956, in Stratford. They had sixty-six years of wonderful marriage. He was an Elder for forty-seven years at the Stratford Church of Christ, and a member of the Board of Directors at Pettijohn Springs Christian Camp. Bob made many missionary trips to Nicaragua where he devoted lots of time and work. He attended school at Horace Mann, ECU and the University of Houston. He lived in Houston for fifteen years where he worked for Shell Oil for five years and Sinclair for ten years. He and Sue moved to Ada where they made their home and lived for the next fifty-two years. Bob owned and operated Passmore Tank Service and then Passmore Oil Company where he was still working.
Bob and Sue enjoyed traveling. He was incredibly passionate about his grands and great-grand kids. His great-grand kids were the joy of his life. He was a gardener, farmer, member of the Cattleman's Association, Oil Center Fire Department, and the Planning Committee for the City of Ada. He loved his kids and handing out Skittles to kids at church. He also loved working at the church building, mowing the lawn and doing repairs.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tom; and also his close friends, whom he relied on, Ulyss Ballard and Ronnie Dennis.
Survivors include his wife, Sue, of the home; daughters, Bobbi Ardrey and husband, Joey, of Byng, Oklahoma, and Sherri Turpin and husband, Ledon, of Ada, Oklahoma, he was Papa to four grand-kids, Jody Ardrey and wife, Cindy, Cody Ardrey and wife, Ashleigh, Ashlee McCoy and husband, Jet, and Chrissa Turpin; and great-granddaughters, Ti McCoy, Jada, Stevi, Layla, and Journi Ardrey.
Services were held March 23, 2022, at the Church of Christ, Stratford, Oklahoma, with Mr. Bill Jones, Bill Ballard, and Dusty Dennis officiating Burial followed in Swan Hill Cemetery Ada, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers were Joey Ardrey, Ledon Turpin, Jody Ardrey, Cody Ardrey, Jet McCoy and Dusty Dennis. Honorary Pallbearers included David Bryan, Don Brown, Odis Lewelling, and James Randall.
