Sammie Lou (Carson) Ladue was born September 30, 1945, in Ada, Oklahoma, to James “Bill” W. Carson and Sammie “Daisy“ Lou (Ward) Carson. She graduated from Byng High School and later married the love of her life, Bruce F. Ladue, on November 13, 1965, in Santa Maria, California.
Sammie worked as a telephone operator and was a faithful member of Beaty Baptist Church. Her life was centered on caring for others, especially her children, grandchildren and the many daycare children whose lives she touched with love and kindness. In her later years, she found joy in the fellowship of the ladies at her church, affectionately known as “The Widows Club,” and faithfully served her church family in many ways.
Sammie was well known for her generous heart and welcoming home. She loved cooking for her family and was especially famous for her delicious fried pies and meatballs.
One of the principles she lived by was that no one should ever go hungry. She believed that even the smallest act of kindness could make a profound difference in someone‘s life, and she demonstrated that belief every day through her compassion, hospitality and selfless service.
