PAULS VALLEY, OK — The Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce will host its annual community celebration with the theme “Pauls Valley Proud” Tuesday, June 23, at the Bosa Community Center.
This year’s special guest will be T.J. Rushing, a Pauls Valley native whose life and career reflect the heart of this year’s theme. Rushing will share stories from his journey, from his days as a Pauls Valley Panther to his successful career in college and professional football.
“We are very excited to have T.J. as guest speaker for this year’s event,” said Joe Don Looney, Chamber Board Chairman.
Rushing attended Pauls Valley High School, where he was a standout athlete and letterman in football, basketball and track. He went on to play college football at Stanford University before beginning a professional football career in 2006. He is well known for his time with the Indianapolis Colts, including the Colts’ victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.
Following his playing career, Rushing moved into coaching and has built an impressive résumé at the collegiate level, including coaching stops at programs such as Arizona State, Northern Arizona, Memphis, Texas A&M, Auburn and the University of Arkansas.
The evening will include a social hour, silent auction, catered dinner, dessert dash, networking, and the presentation of community awards recognizing outstanding educators, businesses, citizens and community leaders.
The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Social hour and the silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m.
While the celebration is an annual Chamber event, the general public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Attire for the evening is Panther Pride.
