Chandler-Watts Memorial Library in Stratford held its reading program in July. The two-part program served over 40 students and consisted of a morning StoryTime for ages 4 and under followed by an elementary program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The theme of this year’s program was “Oceans of Possibilities” and activities focused on marine biology, pirates and fun at the beach.

StoryTime participants and their families were given a book challenge and all together, read more than 1,000 books during the month of July. Students in the elementary program enjoyed a Bingo challenge and together read more than 1,500 minutes during the program.

Library staff would like to thank Frontline Family Solutions for sponsoring this years’ reading program, as well as the parents, grandparents and daycare providers who brought their children and helped by volunteering during the program.
