Wiley Post Festival this weekend in Maysville

Maysville’s annual Wiley Post Festival is coming up this weekend and there will be plenty for attendees to enjoy. Among the festivities planned, the Maysville cheerleaders have added a Cornhole Tournament in an effort to raise money for uniforms and equipment.

When asked about why they chose cornhole, cheerleading coach Tori Howard said, “We chose to do this tournament hoping it would draw more people to the festival, because who doesn’t love to play a good game of cornhole? We would like to see this be an annual event held during the Wiley Post Festival.”

Registration for the tournament begins at 8 a.m. Saturday and will continue until the tournament starts at 10 a.m. The entry fee for each team will be $50 and prizes will be given to the top teams. If anyone is unable to enter the tournament but would still like to help support the cheerleaders, they may contact Tori Howard at 580-317-6623.

The festival will include vendors, a parade, the Maysville’s Choice Awards, and lots of fun. All proceeds will go to support the Maysville Public Library.
