Pauls Valley library to offer yoga and Tai Chi classes in September

The Nora Sparks Warren Library in Pauls Valley will begin offering various yoga and Tai Chi classes beginning September 9. The classes are free and require no sign up.

Beginner’s Yoga will be held 6-7 p.m. Mondays, September 13-November 1. This class is geared toward those who are new to yoga and will focus on the fundamental alignment of poses and mindful breathing.

Chair Yoga is a gentle practice wherein postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair. This class will be held 10-11 a.m. Fridays, September 17-November 5.

Yinyasa Flow is a class for experienced yoga students focusing on an energetic style, synchronizing breath with movements. Yinyasa Flow will take place from 6-7 p.m. on Thursdays, September 9-November 4.

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga, focusing on yoga as exercise where the postures are held for longer periods of time. This class will be from 7-8 p.m. on Thursdays, September 9-November 4.

The Tai Chi class will be held Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. from September 14-October 19. Tai Chi is a practice that can help improve balance and posture, cardiovascular functions and quality of sleep. It is used as both a stress reducer and muscle strengthening practice.
