The Elmore City-Pernell Badgers continued their winning season Thursday night, beating the Wynnewood Savages 48-20.
The Savages started the game out strong, scoring first on an 80-yard touchdown run. The Badgers answered with a drive capped off by Derrion Rogers scoring a touchdown. Both teams then traded punts for each drive.
Rogers took the next drive for the Badgers and scored a touchdown making the score 14-6, Badgers.
The Savages answered with a Caden Knighten scramble for a touchdown, narrowing the score to 14-12.
Then neither team could get a drive going, turning the ball over on downs. The Badgers' Tyler Martin threw a pass to Damontre Patterson that ended at the Savages' 7-yard line.
J.W. Barnes ran the ball in for a Badger touchdown, with Hunter Burger scoring the two-point conversion bringing the score to 20-12.
The kickoff after halftime showcased Rogers again as he ran the ball back for a touchdown making the score 28-12.
The Savages could not get anything going in the second half. They ended up with two punts and a turnover on downs.
The Badgers' Tyler Martin scrambled for a touchdown on the next Elmore City drive bringing the score to 34-12. Rogers put the game away, scoring on two separate runs for touchdowns. The score remained 48-12 until Wynnewood finally put a drive together, scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion, making the final score 48-20.
