Several seniors played their final game Saturday as three Garvin County teams lost in their respective Regional Consolation Championships.
The Lindsay Leopardettes lost 42-33 to Valliant in Washington. The team faced many challenges this year, including having very little varsity experience and their point guard being injured in January.
“We had a dry spot, but we overcame everything people said. None of our players had experience, and we had our point guard knocked out,” said Lindsay senior Breckynn Cline. “I’m so proud of my team. I wouldn’t want to play for a different team if I could.”
As the season ends, seniors leave behind teams that are turning their attention to next season.
“I’m leaving athletics behind me, but the Leopardette basketball program is only going up from here,” Cline said. “They’re only losing me and one other. Lindsay basketball is in good hands.”
Both Wynnewood teams also lost at their Regionals in Stroud. The Lady Savages lost 50-37 to Dibble. The Savages lost 49-42 to Kansas.
