Three Garvin County basketball teams have advanced to their Area Tournament, three wins away from the State Tournament.
#13 Pauls Valley Lady Panthers won games Friday and Saturday at Douglass High School to win the Regional Consolation Championship. They won 57-45 over Sulphur and 62-48 over Plainview. The Lady Panthers now advance to the Area Consolation bracket, where they will play Elgin at 6 p.m. Thursday at East Central University.
#9 Stratford Lady Bulldogs lost the Regional Championship 64-36 to #6 Riverside on Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs advance to the Area Consolation bracket and will play Watonga at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bridge Creek.
#8 Lindsay Leopards lost the Regional Championship 63-52 to #11 Kingston on Saturday. The Leopards advance to the Area Consolation bracket and will play Silo at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Madill.
Four other teams had their playoff runs end on Saturday.
#15 Maysville Lady Warriors lost the Class B2, Area II Consolation Championship 67-26 to Lookeba-Sickles in Noble. Lookeba-Sickles will advance to the State Tournament. The Lady Warriors advanced through the Area Tournament with a 53-39 win over Big Pasture and a 43-25 win over Granite.
Lindsay Leopardettes lost the Regional Consolation Championship 42-33 to Valliant in Washington. They advanced to that game with a 33-31 win over Marietta on Friday.
Wynnewood Lady Savages lost the Regional Consolation Championship 50-37 to Dibble in Stroud. Dibble also beat Wynnewood in District play Feb. 19. The Lady Savages had advanced to the game after winning 65-32 over Vanoss on Thursday and 48-45 over Stroud on Friday.
Wynnewood Savages lost the Regional Consolation Championship 49-42 to Kansas in Stroud. The Savages advanced to that game after a 50-46 win over Stroud on Thursday.
