Local runners advance at OCCTCA Indoor Preliminary Meet

Local runners competed for the first time this season at the Oklahoma Indoor Track and Field Championships Preliminary Meet.

Organized by the Oklahoma Cross Country & Track Coaches Association and held at the University of Oklahoma Mosier Indoor Facility, the meet featured runners from across the state. Qualifiers from this preliminary meet will compete in the championship Feb. 21.

Two Pauls Valley runners qualified for the finals in Division 2.

Pauls Valley senior Jorge Quinonez placed fourth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:05.35.

In the 1600, junior Rylan Close placed fifth with a time of 4:45.30.

Two Wynnewood athletes qualified for the finals in Division 3.

Sophomore Beau Britton placed sixth with a 10-foot, 11-inch pole vault.

Senior Annika Pittman placed fifth with a 33’10” shot put throw.
