Savages take top spot at Little Axe powerlifting

Wynnewood powerlifters compete at the Little Axe Meet.

The Wynnewood Savages took home the Small School team championship on Jan. 21 at the Little Axe Powerlifting Meet.

Stratford also competed with Braxton Bear placing third in both the 145 weight division and the squat for his division, where he lifted 315.

Leading the Savages' winning effort was Briar Davenport who won the 168 weight division. He lifted 475 for the highest squat and 460 for the highest deadlift of any class in the division. At 270, he also had the third highest bench for the small school lifters in his division.

Phoenix Sparks lifted 415 on the squat to place second in both squat and the 157 weight division.

In the 275 weight division, Adrian Hernandez placed second. Out of both classes, Hernandez had the highest squat lift in the division at 520. His 305 on the bench came in third, and his 495 on the deadlift came in fourth.

In the 198 weight division, Cobey Williamson placed third. In the individual lifts, he had the highest bench at 270, third highest in squat at 430 and fourth highest deadlift at 435.

Caleb Dixon placed fifth in the 132 weight division. His squat of 355 was the second highest in the division, regardless of class.

In the 220 weight division, Cole Hildreth placed fifth, lifting a total of 1,205.

Ismal Williams lifted 470 in the squat, the third highest in the small school 275 weight division, to place fifth in the division.

In the heavyweight division, Evan Blankenship lifted 425 in squat, which came in fourth, and placed sixth in the division.

Jaien Fields also in the 275 weight division, placed seventh in the division and fifth on the bench, where he lifted 275.

Preston Gaither placed seventh in the 220 weight division.

In the 242 weight division, Peyton Henderson placed seventh.

Placing tenth in their divisions were Jett Underwood in the 181 weight division and William Manning in the heavyweight division.

Also in the 168 weight division, Luke Stevenson placed fifth in the deadlift.

Hunter Dotson lifted 275 on the bench, which was fourth in the 275 weight division.
