The Antioch ABC Oklahoma Home and Community Education club (OHCE) met Monday, Nov. 17, at the Antioch Community Center for the group’s regular monthly meeting. Seven members were present. They were Chestine Box, Ron Endler, Gay Freeman, Kristi Ezzell, Becky Armstrong, Joy Pyle and Carol Darrow.
President Chestine Box opened the meeting with the collective reading of The County Home and Community Education, the group pledging allegiance to the American flag and the thoughts for the day given by each member telling about a memorable Thanksgiving they have had. Lastly, the minutes were approved and the group's financial statement was given.
Under new business the Antioch Community Thanksgiving Dinner for next year, 2026, was discussed. It was decided the Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be moved to 1 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. Thank you to all club and community members who helped with the Thanksgiving Dinner this year. It truly does take a village.
The group spent the next half hour signing Christmas cards to be given to veterans who live in veteran’s homes. Ron Endler will be delivering them to veteran's homes in Oklahoma City and Sulphur. Thank you, Ron, for your service.
Our upcoming Christmas party was discussed. It will be on Dec. 15. Each member needs to bring a DHS donation gift for the baby shower, a re-gifted or homemade gift for a game of Dirty Santa, and a Christmas snack food. Gifts, games, music and food will be enjoyed by all in attendance.
