The Antioch ABC OHCE club met at the Antioch community center Monday, Oct. 20, for their regular monthly meeting. Members present were Chestine Box, Gay Freeman, Gayla Ezzell, Becky Armstrong, Joy Pyle, Kristi Ezzell and Carol Darrow.
The meeting was called to order with the singing of 'Happy Birthday' to fellow member Joy Pyle.
We then read together the Collect, said the Pledge of Allegiance together, and finally Chestine shared a thought for the day.
Under new business, the Antioch community Thanksgiving dinner was discussed. It was decided that the dinner will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. Ham, turkey and dressing will be prepared and provided by club members. Side dishes and desserts will be welcomed.
Everyone is welcome to come and participate.
Due to the community Thanksgiving dinner, there will not be a luncheon on the first Tuesday of the month.
Our lesson was about one-pot meals. We discussed the topic and shared ideas with fellow members. We were happy to learn the fellow member Jeanne Rowlett is home recovering from surgery and doing very well.
Next month's meeting will be Nov. 17. Members are asked to come and sign Christmas cards to be given to the Veterans Hospital and Home. If you have extra cards, please bring them to the meeting.
