The Antioch ABC OHCE Club met for its regular monthly meeting Monday, July 21. Members present were Ron Endler, Chestine Box, Becky Armstrong, Kristi Ezzell, Gayla Ezzell and Carol Darrow.
Club president, Chestine Box, opened the meeting with the singing of “Happy Birthday” to members present who have July birthdays--Ron, Kristi and Gayla. Next, she shared a poem about friendship, led the group in the collective reading of the Collect and the flag salute.
This was the date for our annual July baby shower for the Department of Human Services but we chose instead this year to donate $100 to the DHS to help with emergency needs for the children. Our next shower will be in December.
We were sad to learn of the passing of one of our former members, Lynnette Hanun. We send our condolences to her family.
Much time was spent in discussion of the upcoming Garvin County Fair. It will be August 23-29 with entry forms due August 15. Gayla recorded items we need for our booth. Please contact her if you can help with our booth in any way.
Ron taught the lesson entitled “Living Life after Loss” to the group. He reminded us it is important you allow yourself to grieve, that there is no set time length of grief and everyone's grief is unique to that person.
Due to the upcoming fair, our August meeting has been moved up a week. We will meet August 11 at 2 p.m. at the Antioch Community Center. Please try to come.
