The Pauls Valley Arts Council will host a meet and greet membership drive Jan. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Arts Council building, 220 W. Paul Ave.
PVAC board president Rita Hines-Fryer said everyone is welcome to attend the event and learn more about the benefits and opportunities of being an Arts Council member.
“We are providing finger foods and drinks. Our members will have their art displayed on the walls, and we will have information tables set up about our different events and committees,” Hines-Fryer said.
There will also be a raffle for an Acer Chromebook. Tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. Ticket holders must be present to win.
PVAC is a 501c3 non-profit organization, with the purpose of increasing awareness of and access to the visual and performing arts for the residents of Pauls Valley and the surrounding Garvin County area, as well as other communities. Hines-Fryer said it is not necessary to be an artist to join the Arts Council.
PVAC membership dues are $25 a year, and membership benefits include a 20% discount on Pauls Valley Arts Council Theater tickets, discounts on workshops and classes offered by PVAC and on rental fees for use of the PVAC building for private events. Members may use the PVAC building to teach classes, with 20% of the earnings from the class donated back to PVAC. Membership also offers opportunities to network, meet diverse people and share expertise in all areas.
