A man whose body was discovered in a field near State Highway 77 between Pauls Valley and Wynnewood Sunday afternoon has been identified as Michael David Hall, 53.
The identification was made based on evidence recovered at the scene and mobile ID scanners used by OSBI, according to a statement released by the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon.
A cause of death is still pending, but the case is being investigated as a homicide.
Hall’s body was discovered around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon after a passerby spotted him partially covered with a blanket in a field on East County Road 1620, near Highway 77, and called 911.
Garvin County deputies secured the scene, and the OSBI was called in to assist with the investigation.
Garvin County Sheriff Jim Mullett said Monday investigators believe Hall was killed somewhere else and his body was then left in the field near Highway 77.
Hall is from the Oklahoma City area and doesn’t appear to have any ties with Garvin County.
He was last seen alive by a relative in the Oklahoma City area Saturday afternoon.
The OSBI is asking anyone who has any information about Hall or his movements, or who saw anything suspicious in the area of Highway 77 and East 1620 Road this weekend to contact them at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.ok.gov. Those providing tips can remain anonymous.
