Six injured in collision near Whitebead

State Highway 19 west of Pauls Valley was closed for a time Monday night, as emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision that injured six people.

The collision occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 19 near East County Road 1555 (Kimberlin Rd.). According to a preliminary collision report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Fern A. Caudle, 55, of Ardmore was traveling eastbound on Highway 19 when it entered the westbound lane as Caudle attempted to make a left turn onto East County Road 1555. She collided with a vehicle traveling westbound, driven by Coal M. Taylor, 32, of Maysville.

Both drivers were injured, along with four of the six passengers in Taylor’s vehicle, which included his wife and children. All of the injured were transported to hospitals by ambulance or Air Evac.

Social media posts from family members and Taylor this week indicated all of those injured are expected to recover.
