Leopardettes win Cushing Tournament

Leopardettes win Cushing Tournament

Addi Dodson earned the championship win on the mound as well as tournament MVP, as the Leopardettes won the Cushing Tournament.

On Thursday, the team won 7-6 over Muskogee and 7-2 over Pawnee. On Friday, they lost 6-1 to Bishop Kelley before rallying for a 5-2 win over Sapulpa.

Lindsay won the championship 4-2 over Plainview.

The Leopardettes will host Newcastle Monday, go to Tishomingo Tuesday and host Sulphur Thursday. They will play in the Hall of Fame Festival Friday and Saturday.

ECP and Maysville compete in Red Dirt Classic

Both Elmore City-Pernell and Maysville fell in the first round of bracket play Friday in the Red Dirt Classic at Central.

In Thursday’s pool play, the Lady Badgers placed second in Pool B. They suffered their first loss of the season with a 10-4 loss to Minco. They followed that by winning 10-0 over Ryan. On Friday, they fell 9-6 to Velma-Alma.

In Pool A, Maysville lost 8-1 against Empire and 15-0 against Cyril. On Friday, they were eliminated with a 9-1 loss to the home team, Central.

Elmore City-Pernell will host Empire Monday and go to Rush Springs Tuesday.

They will play in the Ninnekah Tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Lady Badgers will play Thursday and Friday at the Rush Springs site, beginning with Bray-Doyle at 2:30 p.m. The winner of that game will play Rush Springs at 6 p.m. Thursday. If they advance to Saturday, games will be at Ninnekah.

Wynnewood earns first win of season

At the Verden Festival, the Lady Savages earned their first win of the season with a 9-6 victory over the home team, Verden.

Paisley Lewis hit 3 for 3 including one double, batted in six runs in three hits and stole one base to lead the winning Wynnewood offense. Carlye Stokes pitched the win, with Jurnee Jones pitching relief.

Also in the Verden Festival, Wynnewood lost 10-0 to Fort Cobb-Broxton, lost 6-3 to Wayne and lost 6-4 against Verden.

The Lady Savages will host Davis Monday and go to Hinton Tuesday. They will play in the Davis Festival Thursday and Friday.

Stratford loses to Byng

Hannah Lester batted in the Lady Bulldogs’ lone run in Thursday’s 9-1 loss to Byng.

Stratford will host Dibble Monday and go to Wewoka Tuesday. They will host their tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Vanoss claims second win of season

The Lady Wolves won 6-5 over Roff, after overcoming an opening 2-0 deficit. Reece Corley pitched the win. On offense, Kinley Delozier and Kerrigan Wootten batted in 3 runs each.

Vanoss will host Tupelo Tuesday. They will also go to the Tupelo Festival Thursday through Saturday.

Wynnewood wins Stratford Junior High Tournament

The Lady Savages held their opponents scoreless as they won the Stratford Junior High Tournament.

Paxtyn Mooney earned the win on the mound for all four games.

The Stratford Lady Bulldogs went 0-3 for the weekend.
