The Pauls Valley Junior High Academic Teams took a trip to Science Museum Oklahoma in February. Academic team students in grades 7-9 spent the day learning as they participated in the museum's many science attractions. A favorite part of the day for students was a trip around the universe at the Love's Planetarium. The excursion was funded through a grant from the Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence. Chelsey Schroeder's Journey class at Pauls Valley Junior High School received a grant from the Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence this year for a project titled, 'Sew Much Fun.' This grant was about teaching students how to do minor sewing projects, such as sewing on a button and sewing a seam. The grant purchased sewing kits and small handheld sewing machines, as well as buttons, fabric and stuffing. Students used the equipment and supplies to work on making stuffed animals.
