Stratford Mayor Sean McKinney swore in Tonia Jones (left) as town clerk during a special meeting of the Stratford Board of Trustees Aug. 29. Jones will replace town clerk-town administrator Karen Lambert, who recently stepped down from the position.

A large donation has given new momentum to a project by the Ninety-Nine + ONE Foundation to turn a former nursing home facility in Stratford into a home and resource center for young adults aging out of foster care, at-risk women and children and widows in crisis.
