As temperatures continued to soar over 100 degrees this week, Maysville and Rush Creek Volunteer Fire Departments stood watch over a hay barn that caught fire Tuesday afternoon about a quarter mile south of Maysville on Hwy 74. The amount of hay inside the barn prevented fire crews from extinguishing the fire, which had to be treated as a controlled burn.
