As temperatures continued to soar over 100 degrees this week, Maysville and Rush Creek Volunteer Fire Departments stood watch over a hay barn that caught fire Tuesday afternoon about a quarter mile south of Maysville on Hwy 74. The amount of hay inside the barn prevented fire crews from extinguishing the fire, which had to be treated as a controlled burn.

Open Records, Open Meetings seminars to be held statewide this fall
Maysville FFA members serving the community at an event last year. The Maysville and Stratford FFA chapters were recently recognized with Three Star Chapter Award by the National FFA Organization. The honor puts both chapters among the top 1% of FFA chapters in the nation.
