The project will install wrong-way detection systems along the southern I-35 corridor between Cleveland County and the Oklahoma-Texas state line and is scheduled to be completed in late fall 2024.
This project marks the fourth Oklahoma corridor to have wrong-way detection systems installed. Eastern I-40 was completed in 2022, northern I-35 was completed in 2023 and western I-40 is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
The more than $4 million project was awarded by the Transportation Commission to Action Safety Supply Co., LLC. in Nov. 2023.
