Tax Comission releases April sales, use tax distribution report

Sales tax collections were up slightly in February for Pauls Valley and Wynnewood compared to the same period last year, according to the April distribution of sales tax collections report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Foster also saw a significant increase over 2025.

Elmore City, Lindsay, Maysville, Paoli and Stratford all showed a decrease in sales tax collections over the same period in 2025.

Use tax collections across the county were up for most communities in February compared to the same period last year. Only Paoli, Pauls Valley, Wynnewood and Garvin County saw decreases from last year.

According to the Tax Commission, the disbursement of $202,236,693 in sales tax collections returned to cities and towns across the state reflected a increase of $15,742,252 from the $186,494,441 distributed to them in April last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $36,613,010.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $35,570,691 sales tax disbursement and $7,960,612 in a use tax disbursement.

The April 9, 2026 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from February business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from February 16-28 and estimated sales from March 1-15.
