Nine school board positions from districts across Garvin county were elected this week without a single vote being cast, after each position drew only one contender during the three-day candidate filing period that ended Wednesday.
Most of those who filed declarations of candidacy were incumbent school board members filing for another term.
One board of education office, in the Lindsay School District, drew no candidates during this week’s filing period.
Those who filed a declaration of candidacy for a board of education office this week, according to the Garvin County Election Board, include:
•Derek Stanley, Elmore City-Pernell Board of Education, Office 1, for a five-year term;
•Tess Slack, Elmore City-Pernell Board of Education, Office 3, for an unexpired term;
•David Klein, Maysville Board of Education, Office 1, for a five-year term; •.Jeremy Nowlin, Paoli Board of Education, Office 4, for an unexpired term;
•Darla Dillard, Paoli Board of Education, Office 1, for a five-year term;
•Richelle Humphrey, Pauls Valley Board of Education, Office 1, for a five-year term;
•Shawn Mann, Stratford Board of Education, Office 1, for a five-year term;
•Michael Ray, Wynnewood Board of Education, Office 1, for a five-year term;
•Alex Young, Whitebead Board of Education, Office 2, for a three-year term.
Candidates have the ability to withdraw their candidacy until 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5.
