The Garvin County Free Fair will get underway next week at the Garvin County Fairgrounds in Pauls Valley, with fair activities running from Tuesday, Aug. 24 through Saturday, Aug. 28.
Exhibit intake and judging will be Tuesday, Aug. 24, and Wednesday, Aug. 25, and livestock and poultry shows will run Thursday, Aug. 26, through Saturday, Aug. 28.
“Kid’s Days at the Fair” will be Thursday and Friday and will feature fun, educational activities for families including hands-on STEM activities, the Southwest Dairy Farmers Outdoor Milking Parlor, the “Grown for You” mobile classroom, a fire safety mobile classroom, a calving simulator, OSU Insect Adventure and a petting zoo.
Kid’s Days will also feature a free hotdog lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days.
A Best Dressed Pet contest will be held Thursday at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Pedal Tractor Pull at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s events will include a Weiner Dog Race at 11 a.m. and youth and adult cornhole contests from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
