Fifth Friday Art Walk to feature 4-H photo contest

Downtown Pauls Valley is gearing up for its next Fifth Friday Art Walk June 30 from 5:55-9 p.m.

Sponsored by the Pauls Valley Arts Council, the event features a variety of local artists, food vendors, entertainment and shopping opportunities centered in the downtown area.

During this month’s Art Walk student photographers from around the county will have their work on display at the Pauls Valley Arts and Cultural Building, 220 W. Paul Ave., as part of the Garvin County 4-H Photography Show. The site will also feature the PVAC Members Show with work by Anita De Boer, Tania Landers, Zinda Coffey, Terry Southard, Julie Tabler, Sindy Prather, Ruth Hines, Carrie Daley, Rhonda Nolen, Rita Hines-Fryar, Cindy Neal, J.D. Bostic, Nita Bell, Ronnie Patton, Penny Parker, Lesia Benito, Trep Hetherington and Ann Solinski.

Vendors located at the Arts and Cultural Building will include Arlen Williams of Dancing Rabbit Creek Winery, who will hold a wine tasting, Rock-a-billy Goat Milk Soap, Pride Popcorn & Candies, and Rescue Dog Hot Sauces of Norman.

Various food trucks are expected to be stationed in the 200 block of West Paul Ave., along with interactive family entertainment by Inspyral Circus Giant Bubbles. A Celtic Band will also be offering entertainment through the downtown area.

Many downtown merchants will be open during the Art Walk, with several hosting local artists. In the 300 block of South Chickasaw Street, Godfrey’s Emporium & Specialty Gift Shop will have artists Keith Godfrey, Diann Hays, and Tammy Riddle-Godfrey, while a block further south Bloomin’ Crazy will host Amanda Upton and will also feature a live band.

On the east end of Paul Avenue, The Pauls Valley Tag Office will be hosting Morgan’s Wink and Weld Permanent Jewelry, the Santa Fe Depot Museum will have barbecue, as well as Pam Nichols and information about international exchange students. The Vault Art Space and Gathering Place will host a Summer Artist Market featuring Pauls Valley Arts Council members Crystal Fowler, Arlinda Chandler and Irmgard Geul. Other participating Paul Avenue merchants will include Daisy Patch, Valley Blossom Shop, Valley Trophy & Gifts and White Feather. Perfectly Reset, 123 E. Grant Ave., will also be open during the Art Walk.
