It’s always a good day to be in God’s house and Sunday was another one of those days. It’s such a spiritual and healing environment. It’s so good to be surrounded by people who love you and are filled with God’s love. If you haven’t been in a while, come give it a try and see if you receive a blessing, plus you will be a blessing.
We are happy for Caron and Mike. They are going on a much needed vacation. They are always working and busy and are totally devoted to the church’s work for which we are grateful. But, this time we wish them a relaxing time away.
With school getting ready to start soon, the church has decided to collect money to donate to the local “Stuff the Bus” supply drive. If you were unable to donate this past Sunday, the church will be collecting again this Sunday. We are very proud and supportive of our local school system and find this as a way of helping.
Thank you to everyone who donated baby items to the DHS tub. It was delivered last week and is ready to start being filled for our next Christmas donation. The DHS appreciates all donations and say they are always in need.
The church will be getting together for a fish fry on August 15, at 6:00 p.m. I’m pretty sure I heard Pastor Mike say he will be frying the fish. So everyone come see him in action and also bring a side dish to enjoy with his fried fish. I think I heard Lena say she will be making ice cream. My hearing is really good these days
Pastor Mike’s sermon was entitled, “You are a Royal Priesthood.” He used 1 Peter 2:9 as scripture. He mentioned that the priests’ duty is/was to bless people and as Christians, we should be a blessing to others. God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others. The song “Count your Blessings” is basically impossible because we have more blessings than we could ever count, so we are to share our blessings in whatever way we can.
