Antioch ABC OHCE Club met Monday, Sept.
21, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Community Center. The meeting was called to order by Chestine Box. The Collect and Flag Salute were recited by all. The thought for the day was given by Chestine Box.
The members present were Chestine Box, Ron Endler, Gayla Ezzell, Kristi Ezzell, and Joy Pyle. Treasurers report was given by Gayla Ezzell.
Chestine Box let everyone know that Mary Richardson, club member for over 60 years and past president, had passed away Sept. 12. Mary’s funeral service was Thursday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. at Winans Funeral Home in Maysville with burial at Antioch Cemetery. There was a meal at Love Church for the family.
Antioch ABC OHCE will make a memorial donation to the Garvin County OHCE scholarship fund in remembrance of Mary Richardson.
Gayla Ezzell said Antioch ABC OHCE had donated to First Christian Church in Purcell in remembrance of club member Jeanne Rowlett.
Antioch ABC OHCE booth at the Garvin County Fair received first place.
At the state convention there was a change in the membership wording that will need to be voted on at the Fall Council meeting.
A trip in November is being planned for the group to ride the train to Ft. Worth and visit the Ft. Worth Stockyards on Nov. 9. The cost will be $68 each. Will need to know by the meeting on Oct. 19.
The next Antioch First Tuesday Meal will be Oct. 6 at noon.
The Annual Antioch Thanksgiving dinner will be Saturday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m.
