City of PV issues pool season reminder

As warmer weather approaches and swimming pools begin opening for the season, the City of Pauls Valley is reminding residents that all swimming pools must comply with the adopted International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC).

For the safety of children and the public, swimming pools capable of holding water deeper than 24 inches are required to be properly enclosed with an approved fence or barrier designed to restrict unauthorized access.

Property owners are encouraged to inspect their pool areas to ensure:

  • Fences and gates are in good repair
  • Gates are self-closing and secure
  • Barriers are maintained at all times
  • Pools are kept safe and properly maintained These requirements help prevent accidental drownings and promote neighborhood safety throughout our community.

If you have questions regarding pool enclosure requirements or would like additional information, please contact the Pauls Valley Code Enforcement Office at (405) 238-3308 ext 161 or email copvce@cityofpaulsvalley.com.
