B-52 Bomber travels through Maysville

A LARGE piece of aviation history passed through Maysville Friday morning.

The intersection of State Highways 19 and 74 were closed briefly as crews transporting the fuselage of a B-52H bomber worked to navigate the corner at that intersection as they turned to head north on Hwy 74.

The 159-foot fuselage left Tucson, Arizona, on Jan. 3 and is making its way to a Boeing facility in Oklahoma City. Once there it will be partially reassembled and used to test how new systems can be integrated into the B-52’s 70-year-old design.
