The Maysville Lady Warriors watched their fourth game of the season slip away early and could not recover in a 3-1 loss to Stratford’s Lady Bulldogs last Thursday. Stratford’s #14 Layton bombed a homerun over the left fence to put Stratford up 1-0, and the Lady Bulldogs never looked back.
The pitching was strong from both teams. The Lady Bulldogs’ pitchers struck out five while the Lady Warriors’ Randi Townley struck out six. Townley allowed six hits and three runs while walking zero in seven innings pitched.
Lady Warriors Leslie Wilmot and Jolie Summers each racked up multiple hits against Stratford, with Summers scoring the only run.
Stratford’s Kennedy Layton had multiple hits against Maysville’s pitching.
