The Pauls Valley Panthers dominated Lindsay 21-12 Friday, as the two teams battled for bragging rights in the rivalry dubbed the “Battle on 19.”
The Panther defense only allowed the Lindsay Leopards 213 total offensive yards and two scores.
The Lindsay offense struggled to move the ball, converting only four of 13 third down attempts. Lindsay junior Broty Ramming led the offense with eight carries for 42 yards rushing, 12 of 27 passing for 135 yards on the night.
Pauls Valley’s offense moved the ball well against a difficult Lindsay defense, racking up 338 yards of total offense with three touchdowns. Justin Humphrey led the Panthers with 28 carries for 188 yards rushing and 8 of 15 passing for 100 yards.
The Panthers will face off against the Davis Wolves this week at Thompson Field, as the Panthers celebrate homecoming.
Friday’s homecoming activities begin at 9 a.m. with a pep rally at Thompson Field. The homecoming parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. in downtown Pauls Valley. Homecoming court coronation will take place at 6:15 p.m., with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
The Lindsay Leopards will get things back on track this week as they also celebrate homecoming by welcoming the Dibble Demons to Burford Stadium Friday night. Lindsay’s Friday homecoming festivities start with a homecoming parade at 2:30 p.m. Coronation will be at 6:45 p.m. and kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
