Girls compete at Regional Meets, ECP boys finish regular season

Golfers compete in Regional Meets

Lindsay Leopardettes golf team and Pauls Valley’s Avri Crouch have qualified for the state championships in their respective classes. State championships will be May 4-5.

In the Class 3A Regional at Boiling Springs Golf Course in Woodward, the Lindsay team placed third overall with a combined score of 402. The team qualifies for the state meet at The Territory Golf and Country Club in Duncan alongside Oklahoma Christian School who scored 383, and Crossings Christian who scored 399.

Freshman Ava Thomas won among individual golfers with an 85, two strokes ahead of second place. Junior Ella Tolman placed fifth, scoring 94. Junior Kylee Byrum tied for 15th place with a score of 109. Sophomore Kendal Hines shot 114, and junior Addison Slater shot 116.

In the Class 4A Regional at Jimmie Austin Golf Course in Seminole, Pauls Valley junior Avri Crouch won with a score of 86 and advances to the state championship at Dornick Hills Golf and Country Club in Ardmore. Overall, the team placed seventh. Seniors Ellason Rennie and Katie Elliott tied with one other golfer for 24th place with scores of 103. Freshman Victoria Leija shot 127, and sophomore Julie Elliott shot 129.

At the Class 2A Regionals at McAlester Country Club, senior Jaelee Korzan of Stratford tied for 23rd place with a score of 116.

Badgers finish regular season 

The Elmore City-Pernell junior high golf team finished its season April 16 at Lake Murray, placing fourth. Individually, Cache Ross placed second, shooting an 80.

The Badgers’ high school team will continue their season at Regionals Monday at Idabel Country Club.
