Girls Basketball Roundup: Maysville ends regular season with wins

Maysville

The Lady Warriors (13-5, #15 in Class B2) wrapped up their regular season with two decisive wins.

Thursday, they won 45-25 over Mill Creek (7-14, Class B2). Scorers against Mill Creek were Jolie Summers with 15, Allison Sanders with 12, Jaci McGowen with 11, Avery Riley with 3, Carmyn Grimmett with 2, Sammie Jones with 1 and Claire Mann with 1.

Friday, Maysville won 50-3 against Temple (3-15, Class B2). Scorers were Avery Riley with 19 points, Jaci McGowen with 10, Allison Sanders with 8, Jolie Summers with 5, Kenna Stewart with 2, Lydia Harris with 2, Carmyn Grimmett with 2 and Claire Mann with 2.

The Maysville girls team has received a bye for the district round scheduled for Thursday and Friday because Calvin did not have enough players. The Lady Warriors will begin Regionals at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Springer and face the winner of the Milburn at Springer district game.

Elmore City-Pernell

The Lady Badgers (12-10, Class A) ended their regular season with a 63-18 win on Monday against Waurika (2-19, Class A).

They also lost 54-41 to Empire (18-3, #9 in Class A) Friday and won 62-26 at Springer (1-15, Class B2) Thursday.

ECP will play for the Area III, District 8 title at Verden (16-8) at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Regionals will start at Carnegie. The Lady Badgers will play the corresponding team from the Carnegie (9-15) at Cheyenne/Reydon (18-5, #6) game. The winners will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the runners-up will play at 6 p.m. Thursday. Additional rounds for Regionals will be played at Apache.

Lindsay

The Leopardettes (8-14, Class 3A) lost to Washington 79-25 Friday and lost to Bridge Creek 64-34 on Tuesday.

Lindsay will play Crooked Oak Friday and Purcell Tuesday.

Paoli

The Lady Pugs (6-7, Class B2) lost 41-30 to Bowlegs (8-11, Class B2) Friday and lost 52-12 to Thackerville (4-11, Class B1) Monday.

In Area I, District 5, Paoli will play at Chattanooga (195, #7).

For Regionals, they will play at Chattanooga, the corresponding team from the Cement (6-14) at Blair (7-13) game. The winners will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the runners-up will play 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19. Winners will continue Regional play at Erick.

Pauls Valley

The Lady Panthers (15-6, #13 in Class 4A) won against Marlow 52-36 before losing to Ada 46-43 and losing to Purcell 44-41.

Pauls Valley will play Washington Friday and at Chickasha Monday.

Stratford

The Lady Bulldogs (19-3, #9 in Class 2A) won against Asher 53-33 and won against Konowa 61-29.

Stratford will host Little Axe Friday and host Wynnewood Saturday.

Wynnewood

The Lady Savages (10-10, Class 2A) won 57-21 over Springer, lost 43-39 to Roff, won 54-48 over Wewoka.

Wynnewood will go to Stratford Saturday and host Harrah Monday.
