Garvin County well-represented at State Cross Country Championships

Garvin County had several runners place at the state cross country meet at North Rock Creek.

Girls ran 3200 meters, and boys ran 5 kilometers.

Of the local individual runners, Elmore City-Pernell freshman Remlee McIntosh ran with a time of 12:40.9 to place fourth in Class A. She was 46 seconds from first place.

Lindsay junior Marisol Hernandez placed 13th in Class 3A with a time of 12:57.0.

In Class 4A, Pauls Valley junior Rylan Close placed 14th with a time of 16:48.5, and senior Jorge Quinonez placed 86th with a time of 18:30.8.

Stratford junior Deacon Weddle placed 84th in Class 2A boys with a time of 20:15.8.

Wynnewood freshman Reagan Reed placed 86th in Class 2A girls with a time of 14:56.1.

Pauls Valley girls' team placed sixth in 4A with 219 points. The team averaged 13:13, compared to the winner, Lincoln Christian, at 11:59.

Junior Rachel Hamilton led the team, placing 35th with a time of 12:58.0.

Senior Ella Miller placed 37th with a time of 12:58.2.

Freshman Savannah Johnson placed 46th with a time of 13:12.0.

Sophomore Blakely Shelton placed 52nd with a time of 13:20.1.

Freshman Alexus Cates placed 69th with a time of 13:36.1.

Other runners included freshmen Betsy Tucker and Marissa Cooper.

Wynnewood boys' team placed 14th in 2A with 331 points.

Senior Antonio Medina placed 36th in 2A with a time of 19:06.8.

Freshman Kelby Stinchcomb placed 88th with a time of 20:21.2.

Sophomore Jaylon Pitts placed 98th with a time of 20:30.4.

Freshman Samuel Medina placed 105th with a time of 20:39.9.

Freshman Carson McQuilliam placed 119th with a time of 21:26.4.

Other runners were sophomore Ryder Reed and freshman Liam Newton.
