No-tax increase bond issue coming up September 14

Subhead
Letter to the Editor/Opinion

Over the course of many months, Maysville Public School stakeholders have been discussing needs across the district. On September 14, Maysville patrons will have the opportunity to support students while making a long-lasting impact on the community.

A bond proposition will be on the September 14th ballot asking patrons to support a $600,000 school bond.

A “Yes” vote will replace the existing cinder track with an all-weather five-lane track. The community will also have access to the track to support their healthy initiatives of walking or running.

A “Yes” vote will refurbish the existing bathrooms at the football, Ag barn and gymnasium. The new facilities will be ADA accessible.

A “Yes” vote will purchase new band uniforms and instruments, replacing uniforms that are over 18 years old.

Lastly, a “Yes” vote will update the scoreboards at the softball, baseball and football fields. The district can no longer acquire parts to repair the existing scoreboards.

Through the support of the Maysville community, the district will be able to make improvements that will impact students for many years to come.

The vote on the proposed no-tax increase bond issue will be September 14, 2021. Your vote supports Maysville students!
