Sandra “Joy” (Albright) Franklin was born June 22, 1957, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Leo and Doris (Morton) Albright. She passed away peacefully August 16, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 68 years. Joy was a graduate of Maysville High School. She married Billy Franklin on July 22,1978. The couple celebrated 47 years together just last month. Joy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an administrative advisor for several oilfield companies for many years. She had a strong work ethic and was someone you could always depend on. Joy loved holidays; Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July were her favorites. Holidays meant family get-togethers and time spent with those she loved. It also meant large meals and everyone eating too much; no one ever went home hungry. Joy loved to cook and she shared her love for cooking by teaching others, especially her granddaughter, Dylan Joy.
In Joy’s younger years she was a cowgirl; she loved horses. She and her husband Billy enjoyed dancing and going to dance halls. She also loved NASCAR, time with her family at the lake and vacationing with her kids at the beach.
Some of Joy’s most treasured memories are going to travel and watch her grandsons, Kaden and Kody, play football.
Joy will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. Joy is survived by: loving husband, Billy Franklin; children, Derek Franklin and Rachel of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Melissa Sigman of Lindsay, Oklahoma; brothers, Robert Albright and wife Loaney and Terry Albright and wife Eulonda; grandchildren, Kaden Franklin, Kody Franklin and Dylan Joy Sigman; and numerous nieces and nephews Joy loved like her own children.
Joy is preceded in death by parents, Leo and Doris Albright; brothers, Paul Don Albright, Mickey Gene Albright and Ricky Dale Albright; and sister, Linda Albright.
