Rylee Elizabeth Shackelford was born August 20, 1999, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Gerald and Jena (Albright) Red Elk. She passed away May 26, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 25 years. Rylee attended school in Maysville and was a 2018 graduate of Maysville High School. She married Kyle Shackelford on September 25, 2023. Rylee was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and most importantly, mother. Rylee’s children, Langston and Blakelee, were her world and she truly loved being their mom. Rylee was a jokester and she enjoyed dill pickles. She was competitive, she had a big heart and she loved big. Rylee had a contagious laugh that would get everyone going, and she was the sun on anyone’s rainy day. Rylee’s friends were a special part of her life; they were part of her family. Rylee was the glue that brought everyone together.
Rylee left this world too soon, and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Rylee is survived by her husband, Kyle Shackelford; parents, Gerald Red Elk, Jena Red Elk and Jeremy Smith; son, Langston Don Ashley; daughter, Blakelee Tate Shackelford; brothers, Ricky Dale Nelson Cooper, Blaine Red Elk and Luke Smith; sisters, Ryan Martin, Reese Red Elk, Heaven Smith and Mylee Smith; and countless friends and other family members.
Rylee is preceded in death by Grandpa Paul Don Albright; Grandpa and Grandma George and Fran Red Elk; and PaPa Rick.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at The Foundation Church in Maysville, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com.
