Royce Allen Searcy was born October 16, 1942, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Allen and Erma Lois (Pierce) Searcy. He passed away March 13, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years.
Royce married Gwendolyn Raye Kennedy on April 27, 1962, in Dennison, Texas. They raised their family in various places before making Cordell their home in 1978. The couple had three children: Allen Jay, Dana Royce and Lacy Raye. Royce and Gwen were married for 53 years before her passing in 2015. Royce was a loving father and grandfather. He loved his family and looked forward to time spent together.
Royce retired from Halliburton after 36 years of employment. Royce enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He also enjoyed tending to the cattle and the horses.
Royce will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Royce is survived by his son, Allen Jay Searcy of Cordell, Oklahoma; daughters: Dana Royce Searcy of Port Lavaca, Texas, and Lacy Raye Morris and Carroll of Beckville, Texas; brother, Crillion Searcy of Elmore City; grandchildren: Allen Justin Searcy, Hunter Raye Hathcoat and Chris of Beckville, Texas, Cassidy Carol Dobbins and Sam of Garland, Texas, and Cooper Case Morris and Courtlyn of Beckville, Texas; great-grandchildren: Silas James Hathcoat, Shiloh Ray Hathcoat, Doc Robert Dobbins, Adalee Carol Dobbins and a baby due in April.
Royce is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Erma Searcy; his wife, Gwendolyn Raye Searcy; and a brother, Phillip Searcy and sister-in-law, Mary Searcy.
Funeral Services were held Monday, March 17, 2025, at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma. Burial at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at winansfuneralhome.com.
