Robert T. Rennie Jr., “Bobby,” was born to Bob and Sue Rennie in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, on September 28, 1953. He attended Pauls Valley schools and graduated in 1971. His childhood was centered around family and friends while spending summers in Wyoming with his maternal grandparents, Les and Ruth Holley, vacationing in Washington, D.C., with his paternal grandparents, Fred and Lillian Rennie, raising bottle calves and rare coin hunting with his Nanny (Lillian), and growing up with his younger brother Fred Holley. Bobby was very active in high school. He was on the football team, was the Lt. Governor of his local Key Club chapter, attended Boys State, and was a member of the Senior Student Council. After graduating high school, he set his sights on his mother and father’s alma mater and attended the University of Oklahoma. In November of 1971, he and his wife Cathy Greiner welcomed their first son, Robert Rennie III. Two years later they welcomed their second son, Ryan, in August of 1973.
In college, he worked hard raising a family and as a night jailer, also working at the state capitol. After graduation from law school, he worked in the Cleveland County DA’s office. He started his private practice in 1979 at Scarce, Tipton and Rennie.
He married his wife and love of his life, Vicki, in 1982 in Pauls Valley where they raised their family and Bobby practiced law. He loved working cattle with his dad and brother and was a very active and loved member of the community. He served on many boards and was a member of quite a few local organizations.
Bobby had many loves in his life. Six notable ones were Dog, Boomer, Sooner, Buddy, Luke and Leia. He was very dedicated to his dogs and ones that didn’t have a loving home. Because of that, he regularly donated to the Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society and served on their board.
He loved games and playing poker and gin with his family and friends. He and his buddies took regular trips to Vegas to play poker, and Bobby enjoyed lots of family games of gin with his sons, nieces and nephew. He spent lots of time boating and on the lake driving his family around while they skied.
Annual trips to Palm Beach were a highlight of his. He loved spending time with his family there, doing everything to put smiles on their faces. Telling jokes was always part of his conversation.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert “Bob” and Sue Rennie; his maternal grandparents, Lester and Ruth Holley; his paternal grandparents, Fred “Granger” and Lillian Rennie; his brother, Fred Holley Rennie; and cherished dogs, Boomer, Sooner, Buddy, and Luke.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of the home; sons, Robert Rennie III and wife, Debbie, of Pauls Valley, and Ryan Rennie of Pauls Valley; stepsons, Chris Tucker and wife, Miki, of Pauls Valley, and Robby Tucker of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, Rhylee and Corbin Tucker and Marley Rennie; nephew, Nick Rennie and wife, Dana, and family; nieces, Holley Sanders and husband, Jacob, and family, and Lesley Rennie.
